Snapshots of our hearts...

"Instead of me telling the Lord what I can't do, the Lord is telling me what I can do." ~ Josh S.

Amanda's thoughts...

I cannot believe that we leave for New Orleans tomorrow! With the busyness of life, it seems to have crept up on me. I am SO excited for all of the new experiences this trip will bring. I pray that I'll be able to minister to all of the kids I come in contact with. I pray that I'll be able to show them the love of Christ. I also pray that I won't let anything get in the way of showing that love, because it's going to be HOT, and I might get tired, but I have to remember that even though I'm not strong enough, Christ is. I pray for health and strength. So...I can't wait to see what's in store for us in "N'awlins"!!! As Joanna would say...Here's to an adventure!! ~ Amanda

Pre-trip Ponderings...

Even though I know it is still in America, New Orleans feels and seems so foreign to me, at least the world that we are going. The heat and the long days isn't what is the most daunting part. No, the scariest thing is going to be the barriers. Barriers both racial and financial, spiritual and physical. My prayer is to be as versatile and able to relate to others as Jesus. Will a girl, grown up in a Christian family with two parents on a modest middle class income in the wholesome Midwest, be able to understand life in poverty. I pray for love, not pity and for strength and wisdom to know how to best give of myself. Here's to an adventure! ~ Joanna

It won't be long now...

In just a little over a week, we'll be pulling out and bound for N'awlins!  While there, we will have numerous opportunities for evangelism and cross-cultural ministry to children.  We're incredibly grateful for the team God has assembled, and we anticipate all the ways God is going to shape and mold our hearts throughout the coming days.

This is your go-to place for up-to-date information and prayer requests.  While we'll be using facebook, as well, we'll do our best to keep this blog updated with stories and details.  Check back here often to hear what God is doing and how you can be praying.

Thanks for your love and support for our team!
